Concept design and prototyping
Design and manufacture of phiNet20, a photovoltaic I-V curve measuring station for the company Phineal, as part of a CORFO fund granted for this project.
The design involved conceptual developments, MVPs and proof of concept prototypes, tested with the aim of improving both the electronics and the structural design of the box. Then, part and pieces were designed, having in mind the manufacturing limitations of a small batch production in Chile.
The units were designed to endure extreme temperatures from the desert and to have minimal maintenance requirements. The equipment can operate for months in harsh conditions and can be controlled and programmed remotely via a 3G connection.
The electronics development by Phineal’s R&D department is the product of more than 8 years of applied investigation and development in the solar industry.
