Standardization for the Australian mega-project

Redesign and standardization of the façade of the One Barangaroo skyscraper project, a $2.2 billion development, which is expected to be the highest-rise building in the region. The façade consists of a series of parameterized elements measuring more than twenty meters each, which have been clad in a marble and aluminium composite material.

The redesign had to reinterpret the essence of the original, designed by the firm WilkinsonEyre, and adjust it to the standard dimensions of a forty-foot container, to be manufactured in China and shipped to Sydney, optimising the economic efficiency of the project’s façade.

Work was done with the firm Onsite Group, from Sydney, Australia, a team of architects and engineers who were the project’s contractors and builders.
